Hey. School's almost out. Woo hoo! Martial Arts was my favorite class by far, and the final was pretty easy and fun. I can now kill anyone.
My friend Carlin and I are heading down to Sullivan's Island, South Carolina, to hang with my brother for about a week right after exams are over. I can't wait, man. I love having a flexible schedule - we can just take it easy and do whatever we feel like doing. I also love chillin at the beach, of which we will do plenty. I've been workin on my surfin skills, like how to look cool after the tenth time I fall off the board and whatnot.
If you haven't already, watch the movie Waiting... It's brilliant and hilarious.
It seems that no one uses Xanga anymore... or everyone's just on spring break. I have seen some other sites that I liked better, so maybe I'll move... or have two weblogs. Whatever.

P.S. Here's my new blog: Rosstheboss That's right, I'm the boss.
Hey everybody! I hope everyone had a great week at school or on break or at work or doing something fun. I had an amazing trip to the Dominican Republic, and I wish I was there right now... not at school doing homework... but anyway. God did some awesome things with us while we were there. I'll add pictures sometime soon so y'all can see what we did and how funny the kids are down there.
We were working with Youth With a Mission, specifically with a guy named Carl Thompson (the Dominicans called him Carlos), who lives in the DR with his family as a long-term missionary. They live somewhat far away from where they do most of their ministry, so we were building their house right near the people they worked with. The Dominican people are very hospitable and focused on relationships more than production. I'm that way, too, so I felt right at home. They also eat a lot of chicken, beans, and rice, and I do, too, so I think I might be Dominican. But anyway, we also did vacation Bible school stuff at schools nearby - songs, Bible stories, and games. The kids are crazy and cute, and so am I, so there's another reason why I'm Dominican. But anyway. The whole trip was a lot of work but also a whole lot of fun, and a lot better than going home and drinking all break which I probably would have done if I hadn't gone to the DR.
Sorry to talk about myself so much, what's goin on with y'all?
Does anybody else ever feel way too young to be this old? Weird/corny/cliche question, I know, but I guess I'm just wondering where the time went. I don't feel that much different than I did maybe five years ago, but here I am about to be a junior in college. That's crazy to me. I remember checking out colleges when my brother was in high school, and I was in junior high, and looking up to college kids like they were so old and wise and capable of mind-boggling things. I also thought they studied and partied all the time. I definitely don't do that. Anyway, just some thoughts of mine.
I've been reading The Screwtape Letters, by C.S. Lewis. It's a really interesting story told through these letters from an experienced demon to his nephew. The nephew, Wormwood, is trying to secure a guy's damnation, and Screwtape gives him advice. C.S. Lewis had amazing insight into Satan's methods of tempting us and lying to us. It's helped me recognize the devil's attacks on me a whole lot. I don't mean blatant, exorcism-type attacks, but just the little lies that we end up believing that lead us to sin and cut us off from God.
The team and I head to the Dominican Republic on Saturday! I am really looking forward to the trip, and we would appreciate everybody's prayers, and we'll pray for you as well. Thanks!
